When we bought our home almost 16 years ago, It was the typical out dated cape code. That needed a ton of updates. Back then I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do with the house nor was I one to really care about those things. Blogging wasn't a huge thing back then and DIY'ers where just starting to make a wave on TV and the internet. With all the home improvement shows and now decorating magazines I think I finally settled on a style I love. Our home has been through so many decorating makeovers. I'm glad I have finally found what I can call my style.
It's finally starting to feel like Christmas. The weather stayed warm right up till around Thanksgiving, Making it hard to get into the grove of the Holiday's. The snow has been flying and the mercury has been dropping. Finally after a crazy cold day, I got to sit down and wrap up some new art designs.
Who starts a project during the holiday season. Well, us of course. We set out to tackle a beautiful batten board wall and update our living room fireplace. The outcome was so much more then I had hoped for. I love our finished living room now. The project took us way longer then I had wanted it to, but the end result was well worth it.
This has been one of the busiest years for some reason I can't seem to figure out where the time goes. I haven't decorated yet, which is usually done by now. I haven't done Christmas Photos for the year. But in light of it all I'm so grateful to get the time I do. I'm grateful for the craziness of life and that I have so much to do. I think in light of the darkness that seems to be every where we truly need to find time to center ourselves and be grateful for all we have and can do. I don't have new photos of this year to share yet, but I have some awesome past photos to enjoy till I get this years done... Be grateful for the journey and thankful for each day, Much Joy and Blessing, -L
This summer had been dedicated to spending time with family. And updating the studio space to a bright look. The book shelves used to be dark wood and received a fresh coat of light grey paint. Along with some new pieces and brightly colored art from the shop going up, I am excited about the changes. DIY project were much easier when I was younger now they take up a little more time then I'd like, but in the end I always love the results.
